The Anambra State Government has dismissed eight members of the Agunechemba Security outfit for assaulting and stripping a female corps member, Miss Jennifer Elobor.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Special Adviser on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, announced the decision on Wednesday in Awka.

He said the operatives acted outside their mandate while pursuing suspected cultists and would be handed over to the police for prosecution.

Emeakayi stressed that the Soludo administration has zero tolerance for misconduct, brutality, or abuse of power by security operatives.

He noted that the government had covered the victim’s medical bills, replaced her damaged belongings, and issued a public apology to her family, the NYSC, and the public.

Despite appeals for a quiet settlement, the government insisted on full accountability, describing the case as a turning point in reforming the outfit and restoring public trust.
