Spain retained their Women’s Nations League crown with a commanding 3–0 victory over Germany in the second leg in Madrid, completing the job after a goalless draw in Kaiserslautern.

Claudia Pina scored twice and Vicky Lopez added another as the world champions brushed aside Germany in front of a record home crowd of 55,843 at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Despite missing injured Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati, Spain were in control throughout and showed the cutting edge that was absent in the first leg.

Goalkeeper Cata Coll had kept Spain alive in Germany last week, but this time the attacking quality told. Pina struck first on 61 minutes after combining with Mariona Caldentey, before Lopez curled in a superb second.

Pina then sealed the triumph with a stunning solo run and long-range finish.

Jenni Hermoso came on late and celebrated her return to the national team with another winner’s medal, saying she was proud to lift a trophy again on home soil.
