Charlotte Hornets Stay Hot While Embiid Carries Philadelphia 76ers
The Charlotte Hornets extended their best run in nearly a decade with a sixth straight NBA victory after edging the San Antonio Spurs 111-106, while Joel Embiid inspired the Philadelphia 76ers to another win with a dominant display against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Brandon Miller led the way for Charlotte with 26 points and eight rebounds, steadying the hosts late on after San Antonio had cut a 20-point deficit to just two.
Miller’s calm free throws in the closing seconds sealed the win and underlined the Hornets’ growing confidence.
In Philadelphia, Embiid shouldered the load in the absence of suspended Paul George, scoring 40 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as the 76ers held off the Pelicans 124-114.
The former MVP took control in the fourth quarter to secure a third consecutive victory for the Sixers.
Elsewhere, the Indiana Pacers outlasted the Atlanta Hawks 129-124, the Minnesota Timberwolves claimed a fourth straight win with a 131-114 success in Memphis, and the Houston Rockets edged the Dallas Mavericks 111-107 behind a balanced team effort.
