Mohamed Salah has announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season,
bringing an end to a glittering nine-year spell at Anfield.
The 33-year-old, who joined from AS Roma in 2017, departs as one of the club’s
greatest players, scoring 255 goals in 453 appearances and winning major honours
including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
In an emotional farewell message, Salah thanked the club, city, and supporters,
describing Liverpool as “a passion, a history, a spirit” and admitting that leaving would not
be easy.
Despite signing a contract extension last year, Salah has endured a mixed campaign
under new manager Arne Slot, registering five goals and six assists in 22 league
appearances.
Liverpool described his time at the club as “remarkable,” with the Egyptian set to
leave as the club’s third-highest scorer in history
