Actors Are a No for Me’: Teniola Aladese Opens Up on Dating Preferences

Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has revealed that she has no interest in dating fellow actors, stating a clear preference for romantic relationships with producers or directors in the film industry.

Speaking during an appearance on the I Said What I Said podcast, Aladese described the Lagos dating scene as “stressful” and “a very big mess,” despite receiving frequent attention from admirers through her direct messages.

The actress, however, noted that her personal experiences have been largely positive, adding that she has never had a terrible date. According to her, she is quick to assess compatibility, often deciding after the first meeting whether a relationship has potential.

“It is just that after the first date, I already know that you will never see me again,” she said, highlighting her decisive approach to dating.

Aladese, who transitioned from movie production management into acting, gained recognition for her role in the Africa Magic drama series Jemeji. She further cemented her place in the industry after winning the Trailblazer Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2022.

Reiterating her stance, she said she would rather date individuals in influential roles behind the scenes than actors, though she did not elaborate on the reasons for her preference.
