BRAGA, BETIS SHARE SPOILS IN TENSE EUROPA QUARTERFINAL FIRST LEG.
Braga and Real Betis played out a 1-1 draw in their Europa League quarter-final first
leg, leaving the tie finely poised.
Braga made a fast start and took the lead early, as Florian Grillitsch met a corner at
the near post and finished sharply after Ricardo Horta had earlier been denied.
Betis responded strongly, hitting the woodwork and forcing key saves before Cucho
Hernández levelled from the penalty spot after a foul on Abde Ezzalzouli.
Both sides pushed for a winner late on, but neither could find a breakthrough, leaving
everything to play for in the second leg in Seville.
