Paris Saint-Germain took control of their Champions League quarter-final with a 2-0
first-leg win over Liverpool in Paris.
Désiré Doué gave the hosts an early lead, finishing off a dazzling solo run from
Ousmane Dembélé, with his effort taking a deflection and looping beyond the
goalkeeper.
Liverpool held firm for long spells, with their keeper producing key saves to keep the
deficit at one before the break.
However, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled PSG’s advantage midway through the
second half, gliding into the box after a precise pass and calmly finishing from close
range.
PSG threatened to add more, while a late penalty decision against Liverpool was
overturned after a VAR review, keeping the tie alive heading into the second leg at
Anfield.
