Arsenal’s Merino Set for Surgery After Foot Injury

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after the club confirmed he will undergo surgery on a serious foot injury.

The Spain International was hurt during last week’s defeat to Manchester United and missed Saturday’s win over Leeds.

Arsenal have since confirmed a bone injury in his right foot.

In a statement, the club said Merino will have surgery in the coming days before beginning his rehabilitation, with the aim of returning to full training before the end of the season.

The 29 year old, who joined from Real Sociedad in August 2024, has been a key figure for Arsenal this campaign, scoring six goals in all competitions
