Cameroon have left out goalkeeper Andre Onana and brought in David Pagou as their new head coach for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Onana, currently on loan at Trabzonspor from Manchester United, is one of several senior players omitted.

Vincent Aboubakar, a major figure for over a decade, is also missing as the team rebuilds after failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Manchester United winger Bryan Mbeumo and Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba are included in the squad.

The coaching change follows months of tension. Football federation president Samuel Eto’o had long been unhappy with former coach Marc Brys’ appointment and, after winning re-election last weekend, moved to replace him with Pagou.

The 56-year-old will work alongside assistant Martin Ntoungou Mpile.

Cameroon begin their Group F campaign on December 24 against Gabon in Agadir, with Ivory Coast and Mozambique also in their group.
