Fathia Balogun Slams Blogger Over Rumoured Rift With Funke Akindele

Veteran actress and filmmaker Fathia Balogun has dismissed reports of a feud between her and colleague Funke Akindele, describing the claims as baseless and fueled by social media misinterpretation.

The controversy followed Fathia’s birthday celebration on February 5, when Funke Akindele sent her a warm congratulatory message. Fathia replied with a courteous “Ose Iya Ibeji” (Thank you, mother of twins), a response that a blogger later described as “awkward,” sparking speculation about tension between the two stars.

Reacting during a live video session, Fathia criticised bloggers for twisting her words and creating unnecessary drama. She insisted there is no bad blood between her and Funke, stressing that the birthday message was sincere and her reply had been wrongly interpreted.

Fathia further warned bloggers to stop interfering in her personal and professional relationships, accusing them of spreading false narratives for attention.

The actresses have previously been linked to rumours of a fallout, including reports that Funke unfollowed and blocked Fathia over alleged unreciprocated event appearances, but Fathia maintained that such claims should not be taken as facts.
