Afrobeats singer Fave has expressed frustration over reports that music shows may not be allowed in Nigeria during the Islamic Ramadan period, a situation she says is affecting plans for her birthday concert.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), the singer revealed that several promoters declined to organise her proposed event, citing Ramadan as the reason. Fave, who is a Christian, said she found the situation confusing, noting that she had planned to host her first major show in Nigeria on her birthday, March 13.

She stated that while she respects Islamic practices and religious diversity, she was surprised by the alleged restrictions, adding that she had not encountered such practices while growing up in southern Nigeria.

“I respect all religions. But I’m Christian, and I really want to do this on my birthday,” she wrote, appealing to organisers who might be willing to work with her.

Her comments have sparked conversations online about religious considerations in Nigeria’s entertainment industry and how they affect artists’ business plans.
