Guedes Strike Downs Barcelona Despite Rashford Equaliser

Barcelona’s grip on the La Liga summit loosened slightly as they suffered a dramatic 2-1 defeat
to Real Sociedad in San Sebastian, despite Marcus Rashford scoring off the bench.
The hosts struck first in the 32nd minute through captain Mikel Oyarzabal, who finished
superbly after Barca had already seen three goals ruled out for offside in a frantic opening spell.
Dani Olmo twice rattled the post as the visitors pressed for a response.
Rashford, introduced in the second half, looked to have salvaged a point when he powered home
a 70th-minute header, his eighth goal since joining on loan.
But Barcelona’s relief lasted barely a minute, as Goncalo Guedes struck decisively to restore
Sociedad’s lead.

The defeat leaves Barcelona top on 49 points, just one clear of Real Madrid, while Sociedad
climb to eighth
