Borussia Dortmund secured a fifth straight Bundesliga win with a 2-1 victory away to
Wolfsburg, moving to within three points of leaders Bayern Munich.
Wolfsburg created the better early chances, with Mohamed Amoura missing when sent
through one on one.
Dortmund responded through Julian Ryerson, who first missed in the box before seeing
Maximilian Beier’s deflected effort hit the crossbar.
The visitors took the lead on 38 minutes as Julian Brandt powered in a header from
Ryerson’s corner.
Wolfsburg levelled soon after the break when Konstantinos Koulierakis headed home
Christian Eriksen’s free kick.
The hosts pushed for a winner and struck the woodwork through substitute Lovro Majer,
but Dortmund delivered the decisive moment late on.
Fábio Silva set up Serhou Guirassy, who curled his only shot on target into the far
corner to seal a vital away win.
Wolfsburg remain in the relegation fight as they try to avoid a first drop since 1997,
while Dortmund’s winning run keeps them firmly in the title race in pursuit of their first
league crown since 2011/12.
