Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney-General of the Federation, has addressed a court regarding allegations of billions of naira in illicit funds associated with him, labeling them as unfounded and misleading.
Malami asserted that the funds in question were not derived from public money but were instead earned legitimately through his official salary and received as gifts from lawful sources. He firmly denied any claims of diverting or misappropriating taxpayers’ funds during his tenure.
He characterized the allegations as politically motivated attempts to tarnish his reputation and expressed his commitment to presenting evidence in court to substantiate his defense.
