Jesus Double Lights Up San Siro as Arsenal Down Inter
Gabriel Jesus described it as a dream night after scoring twice at the San Siro to inspire Arsenal
to a 3-1 Champions League win over Inter Milan on Tuesday.
Making his first start of the campaign in the competition, the Brazilian struck twice in the first
half, either side of Inter’s equaliser, as Arsenal maintained their perfect European record with
seven wins from seven.
“It’s a dream night,” Jesus said. “I watched a lot of Serie A as a kid, so to score here brings tears
to my eyes.”
The goals capped an emotional return for the 28-year-old, who only resumed playing in
December after 11 months out with a knee injury.
Arsenal controlled long spells against the Serie A leaders, avenging last season’s defeat at the
same venue. Jesus’ display will boost his chances of a Premier League start ahead of Sunday’s
clash with Manchester United.
