Trinidad-born rapper Nicki Minaj has revealed that she has received a Trump Gold Card, a high-profile investor visa that offers a fast-track route to US residency and citizenship.

The card, which typically requires a $1 million contribution to the US Treasury and a $15,000 processing fee, was shared by Minaj on social media, where she celebrated the development and hinted at finalising her citizenship paperwork. She described the process as effortless, thanking supporters and praising President Donald Trump.

Minaj, who moved to the United States at the age of five, has long been a lawful permanent resident but not a US citizen. In recent months, she has publicly expressed support for Trump, calling herself his “number one fan” during an event promoting government-backed investment accounts for children.

However, the Trump Gold Card programme has drawn criticism from immigration advocates and policy analysts, who argue that it favours wealthy immigrants and undermines the traditional citizenship process. Critics say the policy creates a two-tier immigration system, giving affluent individuals accelerated access to citizenship while ordinary applicants face lengthy and complex procedures.

Despite the controversy, Minaj’s announcement has generated widespread reactions online, with fans and critics debating the implications of celebrity involvement in elite immigration pathways.
