RUSSELL WINS AUSTRALIAN GP AS MERCEDES SECURE ONE-TWO.

George Russell won the season-opening Australian Grand Prix after holding off
teammate Kimi Antonelli to secure a one-two finish for Mercedes-AMG Petronas
Formula One Team at Albert Park Circuit.
The pole-sitting Briton crossed the line nearly three seconds ahead of Antonelli, with
Charles Leclerc finishing third and Lewis Hamilton fourth for Scuderia Ferrari.
Defending champion Lando Norris came fifth, while Max Verstappen produced a
strong recovery to finish sixth after starting from the back.
It was Russell’s sixth career Grand Prix win and his first since the 2025 Singapore
race.
