Sunderland Sink Burnley to Fuel European Push
Sunderland eased past Burnley with a commanding 3-0 home win that underlined their
growing confidence.
An early slice of luck set the tone as Habib Diarra’s strike deflected in off Axel
Tuanzebe, before the midfielder doubled the lead after half an hour with a sharp finish
Burnley failed to contain.
Scott Parker’s side offered little in response, managing only fleeting pressure after the
break.
Sunderland remained the sharper threat, with Brian Brobbey going close before
Chemsdine Talbi sealed the contest late on with a superb 25-yard effort into the top
corner.
The result keeps Sunderland unbeaten at home this season and adds real momentum
to their European ambitions.
