SEC Warns Against Dealing with Silverkuun Investment Cooperative Society

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a public notice cautioning investors against engaging with Silverkuun Investment Cooperative Society, stating that the entity is not registered to operate in any capacity within the Nigerian capital market. 

According to the release signed by the management, “the Commission hereby informs the public that Silverkuun Investment Cooperative Society/Silverkuun Limited is NOT REGISTERED to operate in any capacity in the Nigerian Capital Market.

Accordingly, the public is advised to refrain from engaging with Silverkuun Investment Cooperative Society/Silverkuun Limited or its representatives in respect of any business in the Nigerian capital market.”

Silverkuun has been falsely presenting itself as an Investment Adviser and Fund Manager, despite lacking the requisite authorization from the Commission.

The regulatory body emphasised that dealing with unregistered and unregulated entities exposes investors to significant financial risks, including fraud and the potential loss of capital.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to safeguarding investors and maintaining market integrity, encouraging the investing public to verify the registration status of any company offering investment services via its official portal: www.sec.gov.ng/cmos.
