BRAZIL BOUNCE BACK IN STYLE AGAINST HAITI TO STAY ON COURSE
Brazil responded to their opening setback in perfect fashion with a dominant 3-0 win over Haiti, a result that sends them top of Group C and confirms Les Grenadiers’ elimination from the tournament.
Matheus Cunha struck twice in a controlled first-half display, first reacting quickest after Vinicius Junior’s effort was parried before finishing emphatically from a Vinicius assist to double the lead.
Vinicius then got on the scoresheet himself before the break, racing in behind Haiti’s defence to calmly slot home and put the game beyond reach before half-time.
Haiti showed more fight in the second half and came close through Ricardo Ade, whose header forced a sharp save from Alisson Becker, but they never truly threatened a comeback.
Brazil saw out the game comfortably, despite a disallowed Endrick finish, to secure their first clean sheet of the tournament and move level on points with Morocco ahead of their final group match against Scotland.
