‘I’m Living Like a Blind Man’ — Fuji Star Remi Aluko Opens Up on Glaucoma Battle
Veteran Fuji musician Remi Aluko has revealed that he has lost his sight after years of battling glaucoma, describing his current condition as no different from that of a blind person.
The singer made the emotional disclosure during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he spoke candidly about his deteriorating vision despite undergoing eye surgery in the past.
According to Aluko, many people are unaware of the severity of his condition because he continues to carry himself with confidence and has learned to navigate daily life independently.
“I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself; I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now, but no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down,” he said.
The Fuji star added that he deliberately chooses not to focus on his health challenges in order to avoid falling into depression.
“Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed,” Aluko stated.
Despite his visual impairment, the renowned performer remains active in the music industry, continuing to inspire fans with his resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
