‘I Had to Evacuate Nancy Isime’ — Actress Opens Up on Intense Transformation for Blood Sisters 2

Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has revealed the emotional and physical sacrifices she made to portray her character, Kemi Sanya 2.0, in Blood Sisters 2, describing acting as her life’s calling rather than a means of making money.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, the actress reflected on the demanding process behind her performance, which she said required her to completely disconnect from her own identity to embody the character.

According to Isime, she spent about a week in isolation before filming began and continued to withdraw from others throughout production to fully immerse herself in the role.

“I had to evacuate Nancy Isime for Kemi Sanya to take over completely,” she wrote, adding that the transformation was an enormous risk for actors because some “never return” from such deep character immersion.

The actress disclosed that after filming wrapped, she was unable to accept any new projects for nearly two months because she felt emotionally and physically drained.

“After wrapping Kemi, I physically couldn’t take on any other projects for about two months because I truly had nothing left to give anyone else. I was empty,” she said.

Emphasising her commitment to the craft, Isime stated that acting is far more than a career or financial venture.

“Acting isn’t a hobby to me. It’s not a money-making scheme to me. It is my life. I’m just blessed to earn a good living from it,” she wrote.

She also expressed gratitude to her fans, saying they deserve performances that inspire and motivate them, adding that downplaying her talent would be an insult to her creator.

The actress thanked Netflix, EbonyLife Studios, the creators, directors, writers, and the entire production crew for giving her the opportunity to bring Kemi Sanya 2.0 to life, describing Blood Sisters 2 as “a performer’s dream.”

Isime’s remarks come as Blood Sisters 2 continues to enjoy massive success, climbing to the number one spot on Netflix’s Top 10 chart less than 24 hours after its release.
