Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has assured party members that the forthcoming convention in November will be transparent, credible, and free of manipulation.

Speaking at the inauguration of the committee on Tuesday, Fintiri vowed to deliver on his mandate without fear or favour. “I will not place personal relationships above the party. Nobody will be denied the opportunity to contest. Buy your forms, submit them, and test your popularity before the delegates—that is democracy,” he said.

He cautioned against members escalating internal disagreements to the media, describing the trend as damaging to the party’s image. “Let us not take all our matters to the media. It is becoming too embarrassing. If you are a true party man, you resolve issues internally. We will not allow indiscipline and blackmail to derail this process,” he warned.

Fintiri emphasised that the committee was committed to conducting the most credible convention in the PDP’s history. “The secretariat is open, the work begins now. I call on committee members to sacrifice personal comfort to ensure a transparent, successful convention that will send a clear message—PDP is alive, PDP is united, and PDP is ready to take power,” he added.
