All 18 chapter chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State have unanimously endorsed Barr. Venatius Ikem for a second term as State Chairman.

The endorsement was formally adopted in Calabar on Wednesday after the Forum of Chapter Chairmen met with Ikem and members of the State Executive to deliberate ahead of the state congress scheduled for September 27, 2025.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Forum Leader and Ogoja Chapter Chairman, Comrade Odidi Achong, said the decision was based on Ikem’s proven leadership and ability to stabilize the party.

“We have confidence in Ikem’s leadership. He has demonstrated the capacity to foster unity and reposition the PDP, especially at this critical time. His second term will consolidate our strength and prepare us for electoral victory,” Achong stated.

Backing the endorsement, Forum Secretary and Biase Chapter Chairman, Hon. Obia Ikika, dismissed speculations of internal crisis, insisting the PDP in Cross River remains united.

“Like every family, disagreements may arise, but we resolve them internally. There is no vacuum, no vacancy. Come September 27, we will present a united front. Those sponsoring discord only expose themselves as enemies within,” Ikika said.

The forum further vowed to resist attempts by “detractors and external agents” to hijack the party, stressing that only loyal and trusted leaders could be entrusted with its future.
