The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the repeat Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses earlier scheduled to take place in Anambra and Ebonyi States.
In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the congresses, initially fixed for Saturday, September 20, Wednesday, September 24, and Monday, September 29, will no longer hold as planned.
He explained that the NWC’s decision was aimed at allowing for broader consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, and members in both states to guarantee a credible and transparent exercise.
“Fresh dates for the congresses will be communicated in due course. All aspirants, stakeholders, INEC, security agencies, democracy partners, the media, and the general public are advised to take note,” Ologunagba said.
He further urged party members in Anambra and Ebonyi to remain united and committed to the progress of the PDP while preparations for the rescheduled congresses are concluded.
