In a developing story reported by Cable News, two military officers implicated in an alleged coup attempt to overthrow Nigeria’s democratic government are currently on the run. The suspects, identified as Major JM Ganaks and Captain G Binuga, have reportedly fled the country following the military’s ongoing crackdown on the plotters.

The military authorities have made significant progress in their investigation, having detained 16 individuals linked to the conspiracy during the first week of October. Sources indicate that a total of 18 officers were targeted for arrest, but Ganaks and Binuga managed to evade capture.

Major JM Ganaks, who hails from the Federal Capital Territory, is a member of the prestigious 58th Regular Course at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and was stationed in Jaji, Kaduna State. Captain G Binuga, also wanted in connection with the plot, has yet to be located.

The situation remains fluid as the military continues to pursue leads in the case. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
