Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has issued a pre-action notice to fellow actress Peggy Ovire, demanding a public apology and ₦100 million in compensation over an alleged assault that took place on a movie set.

According to Arimoro, the incident occurred when he attempted to leave the set after his contracted hours had lapsed. He claims Peggy’s team prevented his exit by blocking his vehicle and deflating his tyres. The actor later posted a viral video displaying injuries to his gums and lips, insisting he was physically attacked by Peggy and her crew.

Peggy Ovire, however, denied the accusations, alleging that Taye was the aggressor and had assaulted two crew members, including her driver, who reportedly suffered ear bleeding. But CCTV footage that surfaced afterward appeared to challenge her version of events, capturing Peggy removing her wig and seemingly preparing to confront Arimoro.

Taye’s legal team argues that his rights to personal liberty, freedom of movement, and human dignity were violated. They say he is seeking redress for emotional trauma, psychological distress, and loss of earnings stemming from the incident.

Sharing the legal notice online, Arimoro wrote: “@peggyovire, PRE-ACTION NOTICE. In light of the incident referenced in this correspondence, you have been served. Kindly forward all responses to my solicitors as indicated.”

Peggy Ovire has been given seven days to respond to the allegations or face further legal action.
