Police Invite Dee One Over Video Commenting on President’s Turkey Incident
Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as Dee One, has been invited by the Nigeria Police Force, Force Intelligence Department (FID) for a routine interview.
The comedian disclosed the development on X (formerly Twitter), where he shared a copy of the invitation letter and described it as part of an ongoing inquiry and a fact-finding interview. He is expected to report to the FID Annex Office in Lagos on Monday.
Dee One suggested that the invitation may be linked to a recent video he posted online, in which he expressed his views on an incident involving President Bola Tinubu during a visit to Turkey. According to him, reactions to the video have been mixed, with some accusing him of cyberbullying and others criticising him for mentioning the President’s son and discussing the President publicly.
“I saw something strange that happened in Turkey involving our President and shared my views as an ordinary Nigerian,” he said, adding that he has received multiple calls and opinions since posting the video.
As of the time of reporting, the police have not released an official statement on the nature of the inquiry.
