Big Brother Naija star Pere Egbi has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo’s recent tattoo, insisting that it does not diminish his role or credibility as a pastor.

Egbi argued that many pastors already embrace unconventional styles, making the backlash against Okonkwo’s tattoo inconsistent and hypocritical. He cited examples of pastors who wear braids, dreadlocks, earrings, or styled hair, questioning why tattoos should be treated differently.

In a post shared online, Egbi also addressed the tendency of people to judge others based on appearances, warning that such judgments could be misguided. He suggested that some individuals labeled as “carnal” on earth might surprise many in heaven.

“I see nothing wrong with a Pastor getting tattoos. We have Pastors with braids, dreadlocks, Pastors who wear earrings, and who jerrycurl their hair! Some people would be amazed at the people they’d see in heaven,” he wrote.

His comments have sparked fresh debate online, with many social media users divided over the place of personal expression in religious leadership.
