Alcaraz Marches on After Tough Khachanov Test in Doha.

Carlos Alcaraz dug deep to overcome Karen Khachanov 6-7(7), 6-4, 6-3 and secure
a place in the Qatar Open semi-finals.
After a tight first set slipped away in a tie-break, the world number one responded
with authority, breaking early in the second set to level the match.
Alcaraz then struck at 2-2 in the decider before sealing victory with another late
break to cap a strong comeback.
“It was a really close and tight match,” Alcaraz said. “I knew I had my chances and
just had to keep fighting. I’m really proud of the way I did.”
He will next face Andrey Rublev, who defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6(2), for a
spot in the final.
