Nollywood actor Tayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has called for decisive action against content creator King Mitchy following her alleged suicide attempt during a live broadcast on TikTok.

King Mitchy was reportedly seen consuming harmful household substances during a livestream on Saturday, at the peak of her ongoing online feud with VeryDarkMan.

Her management later announced her death, a development that triggered widespread outrage online and reignited concerns about cyberbullying and the psychological pressure associated with social media conflicts.

Reacting to the incident, Ijebu expressed deep concern over the potential influence such content could have on teenage viewers and other impressionable audiences. He emphasised that household cleaning products are not meant for consumption and warned that portraying them in such a manner during online broadcasts could send dangerous signals to young social media users.

The actor also urged relevant authorities, particularly law enforcement agencies monitoring digital platforms, to investigate the incident and take appropriate measures against individuals who promote or dramatise self-harm on social media.

He noted that many Gen Z content creators wield significant influence over their followers and should act as positive role models rather than promote harmful behaviour.

“I want to pass this message to everybody, especially to our police. I’m begging the police in charge of social media that are monitoring the use of social media that we have children between age 10 and 21 that have access to social media,” he said.

Ijebu questioned the growing trend of portraying cleaning products such as bleach as consumable substances in online content, stressing that depression or emotional distress should never be trivialised or dramatised for views.

He further appealed to authorities to take action against anyone who uses social media to promote or stage self-harm content, lamenting that King Mitchy was allegedly seen during the TikTok live session consuming a substance believed to be hypo in the presence of her associates.
