The Nigeria Police Force in Sokoto State has announced that physical and credential screening for applicants seeking recruitment as police constables will begin on March 9, 2026.

According to the Sokoto State Police Command, the screening exercise will run from March 9 to April 18, 2026, at the Command Headquarters on Gwandu Road, Sokoto, starting at 7:00 a.m. each day.

In a statement released on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufai, candidates who successfully completed the online registration were advised to log into the official recruitment portal to verify their status and print the required documents for the exercise.

The statement explained that applicants must appear strictly on the date stated on their invitation slip and bring all necessary documents arranged in two white flat files. Required documents include the application submission slip, physical screening form, invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number printout, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or age declaration, and certificate of local government or state of origin.

Applicants are also expected to present a completed guarantors’ form with passport photographs, while specialist candidates must provide their trade test results.

The command further instructed candidates to attend the screening in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Musa, cautioned that the recruitment process is entirely free and warned members of the public to report anyone demanding payment in connection with the exercise.

He urged applicants to cooperate with officials and ensure they are properly prepared to facilitate a smooth screening process.
