Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, a former governor of Sokoto State and current senator, has generously distributed N1,000 to 10,000 orphans in the state as part of his support for the upcoming Sallah celebration.

The donation was facilitated through the Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Agency (SOZEA), which managed the distribution to the beneficiaries.

The funds were officially handed over to the agency’s chairman, Lawal Maidoki, during a brief ceremony held in Sokoto on Saturday.

Agency officials emphasized that this financial assistance aims to support vulnerable children, ensuring they can actively participate in the Sallah festivities. This initiative is part of broader humanitarian efforts in the state to aid orphans and underprivileged community members.
