Lagos Resumes Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.
In a significant move to enhance environmental cleanliness, the Lagos State Government has announced the resumption of its monthly environmental sanitation exercise, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026. The initiative will occur on the last Saturday of each month, from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
Barrister Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, emphasized the importance of this exercise as a civic responsibility. Residents are urged to participate actively by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage channels in front of their properties, and properly disposing of waste.
“This exercise is not just a government initiative; it is a collective responsibility that plays a vital role in our commitment to a cleaner, healthier, and flood-resilient Lagos. The Lagos State Government will enforce compliance to ensure the success of this initiative,” Wahab stated.
The resumption of the environmental sanitation exercise highlights the government’s dedication to maintaining a sustainable environment for all Lagosians.
Residents are encouraged to join hands in this initiative, reinforcing the community’s role in fostering a cleaner and more resilient Lagos.
