The Ogun State High Court in Abeokuta, the state capital has dismissed the case instituted by a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo.

The court also affirmed Elemide Oludaisi as the authentic Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly.

All the questions raised in his petition were resolved in favour of the defendants, the members of the state house of assembly headed by the incumbent speaker, Elemide Oludaisi.

This may have finally put to rest whether the house on January 23rd 2024 followed due process in removing the former speaker, Olakunle Oluomo.

Justice Olugboyega Ogunfowora of the State High Court in his very deep, well-researched judgement, affirmed that the House has the right to regulate its activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
