Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted there is no escaping the club’s current struggles following their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The loss marks United’s 12th in 25 Premier League matches this season, leaving them languishing in 15th place.
“What you see guys and what you discuss every week, I also see. I have a lot of problems, my job is so, so hard here. But I stick with my beliefs,” Amorim said after the match. “We just need to face it and not run away, that is my feeling.”
Injuries have further complicated United’s season, with key players like Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo, and Manuel Ugarte sidelined. Their depleted squad meant eight teenagers were named on the bench, with only Chido Obi making a late substitute appearance.
Despite the challenges, defender Matthijs de Ligt insisted there could be no excuses. “We still had a starting eleven with first-team players. It’s no excuse,” he said. “I believe you have to deserve fortune. At the moment, apparently, we don’t deserve it.”
With their form continuing to decline, United must find solutions quickly to avoid further embarrassment in an already difficult season.
