Manchester United salvaged a dramatic draw at Everton, staging a late comeback after appearing destined for another crushing defeat.

Everton, under returning manager David Moyes, dominated the first half and raced to a deserved two-goal lead.

Beto netted his fifth goal under Moyes in the 19th minute following a goalmouth scramble, before Abdoulaye Doucoure capitalized on Harry Maguire’s sluggish reaction to head home a second.

United struggled throughout the opening half, their defensive frailties ruthlessly exposed.

However, Bruno Fernandes reignited hope with a precise free-kick in the 72nd minute. Just eight minutes later, Manuel Ugarte’s powerful strike completed an unexpected turnaround.

The late resurgence spared manager Ruben Amorim from what would have been United’s ninth league loss in 13 matches.

Everton, initially in control, nearly snatched victory when Ashley Young won a late penalty, but a VAR review overturned the decision, ensuring United escaped with a hard-fought point.
