AC Milan manager Sergio Conceição has warned his players that a repeat of Friday’s erratic performance won’t be enough to claim the Coppa Italia, despite a late 3-1 victory over Bologna in Serie A.

The Rossoneri struck three times in the final minutes to overturn a deficit and send a message to their cup final opponents—ironically, the same Bologna side they will face again in Rome next Wednesday. But Conceição was quick to underline that the result masked flaws.

“From tomorrow, we prepare for the Coppa Italia,” the Portuguese coach told Sky Sport Italia. “There were positives, but also negatives. We must learn fast.”

A Coppa Italia triumph would give Milan a second piece of silverware this season after their Supercoppa success in January. Still, Conceição refused to be drawn on whether that would be enough to cement his future.

“This is not the moment to talk about me,” he said. “At the right time, I will speak.”

Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano admitted frustration at his side’s collapse after leading for much of the contest.

“We were in control and could’ve gone 2–0 up,” he said. “Then came 15 minutes I cannot explain. It was the worst I’ve seen from us in a long time.”
