Napoli’s grip on the Scudetto loosened on a dramatic night at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, where a 2-2 draw with Genoa slashed their lead over Inter to just one point with two games to go.

Despite a flying start and twice going ahead, Antonio Conte’s side were undone by defensive lapses and a resilient Genoa outfit managed by Patrick Vieira.

Romelu Lukaku’s early strike and Giacomo Raspadori’s second-half finish were both cancelled out by goals from Honest Ahanor and Johan Vasquez, as Napoli failed to see out yet another home fixture.

Scott McTominay was central to Napoli’s attacking thrust, registering assists for both goals, but it was all undone by a chaotic backline that gifted Genoa two equalisers.

Ahanor’s header led to a bizarre own goal off Alex Meret, and late on, Vasquez pounced on more poor marking to head home Aaron Martin’s cross.

Lukaku and Raspadori both spurned chances to kill the game, while Benjamin Siegrist stood tall in Genoa’s goal, frustrating the home side at key moments.

In the end, Napoli’s missed chances and defensive frailty handed Inter renewed hope. With the title race now hanging by a thread, Napoli’s margin for error has vanished.
