Former U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed the arrest of the suspect linked to the assassination of conservative commentator and activist Charlie Kirk.
In an interview on Fox & Friends, Trump said, “I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody. Everyone did a great job.”
Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at a debate at Utah Valley University. Authorities say he was struck in the neck by a bullet fired from a nearby rooftop in what investigators believe was a targeted attack.
Charlie Kirk, a co-founder of Turning Point USA, rose to prominence as one of the most influential conservative voices of his generation. He built the group into the largest conservative youth movement in the United States and became a key figure in the pro-Trump “Make America Great Again” campaign.
