Aston Villa have confirmed that no Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters will be permitted to attend next month’s Europa League fixture between the two clubs due to public safety concerns.

The club announced on Thursday that the decision followed an instruction from the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), which is responsible for issuing safety certificates for matches at Villa Park.

According to Villa, the SAG had “formally written to the club and UEFA” to confirm the exclusion of away fans, after being advised by West Midlands Police of potential risks surrounding the November 6 encounter.

Police classified the match as “high risk” following a detailed review, citing “current intelligence and previous incidents,” including violent clashes during Maccabi’s Europa League game against Ajax in Amsterdam last year.

Villa said they remain in “continuous dialogue” with Maccabi Tel Aviv, UEFA, and local authorities to ensure the safety of supporters and residents.
