Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk says he wants Deontay Wilder as his next opponent, naming the former WBC title holder as his top choice for 2025.
Usyk, 38, reinforced his status in July after stopping Daniel Dubois at Wembley to become a two-time undisputed champion.
He later vacated the WBO belt, allowing Britain’s Fabio Wardley to be upgraded to full champion.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Usyk confirmed Wilder is the first name on his list, calling the American “a very famous and strong guy” despite the veteran’s struggles in recent years.
Wilder, 40, has not been the same since his trilogy with Tyson Fury and suffered back-to-back defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
He returned from a long layoff in June with a routine stoppage of Tyrrell Anthony Herndon, but remains a big draw.
Usyk has already beaten Fury twice, along with victories over Dubois and Anthony Joshua, and has said he plans to keep fighting only until 2026.
