Kai Cenat Visits Makoko Orphanage, Donates School Supplies and Reaffirms Love for Lagos
Popular US-based streamer Kai Cenat has visited the Makoko Children School Orphanage Home in Lagos, where he donated school supplies and spent time interacting with children.
The 24-year-old content creator, who boasts a massive global following, engaged the children through dancing, painting, and games, creating a lively atmosphere during the visit.
Cenat, on his second trip to Nigeria, expressed his affection for Lagos, describing the city as a place where he feels welcomed and at home. He said the warmth and love he receives from Nigerians are major reasons he keeps returning.
“I feel very comfortable whenever I’m in Lagos. The love I get here is a big reason I keep coming back. Being back in Nigeria means everything to me,” he said.
“I was here two years ago, and I completely enjoyed it. Everybody showed me love. When I returned to America, I told people Nigeria is a place to visit.”
The streamer also expressed regret at missing the festive season in Lagos, popularly known as “Detty December,” noting his eagerness to explore Nigerian culture more deeply.
“I’m so mad that I missed December in Lagos. I just want to understand the culture more and explore it better. That’s what I’ve been doing all day,” he added.
Cenat previously initiated a school project in Makoko, donating $3,000 towards its development in 2024. During his current visit, he also met with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who praised him for leveraging his platform to make a positive impact.
His philanthropic plans in Makoko include building a school and providing free education for local children, further strengthening his commitment to community development in Nigeria.
