CITY KEEP TITLE HOPES ALIVE WITH WIN OVER PALACE.
Manchester City kept their slim Premier League title hopes alive with a comfortable
3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s rotated side controlled much of the contest and took the lead after
33 minutes when Phil Foden’s clever backheel released Antoine Semenyo to fire
past Dean Henderson.
City doubled their advantage before the break as Omar Marmoush finished from
another Foden assist, leaving Palace chasing the game.
The visitors improved slightly after half-time, but City remained in command and
sealed the win late on when Savinho finished neatly from Rayan Cherki’s pass.
The victory moved City within two points of Arsenal with two league games
remaining, while Palace suffered a sixth defeat in seven Premier League matches
ahead of their UEFA Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano.
