Atletico Madrid stormed into the Copa del Rey semi-finals with a crushing 5-0 win away
at Real Betis, scoring three first-half goals to extend their unbeaten run on the road
across all competitions to eight matches.
David Hancko headed Atletico in front early on before Giuliano Simeone and Ademola
Lookman struck to put the tie beyond Betis before the break.
Lookman added a second after the restart, Antoine Griezmann followed suit, and
substitute Thiago Almada wrapped up a dominant display late on.
The result inflicted only Betis’ fourth home defeat of the season and set up a last-four
place for Diego Simeone’s side, who also claimed an 11 th win from the last 14 meetings
between the teams.
