Leeds United moved nine points clear of the relegation zone after a dominant 3-1
Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest at Elland Road.
The hosts took control early and were rewarded when Jayden Bogle finished first time
from Ilia Gruev’s long ball to open the scoring.
Leeds doubled their lead minutes later as Noah Okafor tapped in after sustained
pressure down the left.
Forest showed brief resistance, but any hopes of a comeback were ended early in the
second half when Dominic Calvert-Lewin chest-finished Gruev’s delivery at the near
post.
A late Lorenzo Lucca header offered only consolation for the visitors.
The result leaves Leeds level on points with Tottenham and Crystal Palace and firmly
easing relegation concerns, while Forest saw their four-game unbeaten league run
come to an end.
