Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has publicly declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, signalling a major political shift from his earlier stance in 2023.

In an Instagram post, the celebrity businessman shared a video of campaign buses and revealed he had been attending late-night strategy meetings with political allies to mobilise support for Tinubu. He said their mission is to make the president widely accepted in the South East and secure a decisive victory in the region.

Chief Priest described Tinubu’s re-election as “a total impossibility to stop,” urging others to join the campaign. He also praised the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling it the “surest odd” and claiming no other party comes close in political strength.

“We are too focused to be distracted. Our minds are made up. The goal is simple: deliver Asiwaju,” he wrote, adding that sentiment has no place in politics and that strategic alignment is necessary for success.

The endorsement marks a notable turnaround for Chief Priest, who had previously backed Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election. His latest declaration has sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters and critics debating the influence of celebrity endorsements in Nigerian politics.
