Global Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a non-profit organisation aimed at empowering emerging African creatives through access to world-class music education, mentorship, and industry connections.

The award-winning singer announced the initiative on her Instagram page, stating that after years of building her career on the global stage, it was time to invest back home.

“After years of building globally… It’s time to build at home. Introducing the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation. A new initiative dedicated to empowering emerging African creatives through access, mentorship and world-class music education,” she wrote.

The foundation’s flagship initiative, Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Programme, will hold in Lagos from April 23 to 26, 2026. Organised in partnership with Berklee College of Music, the four-day intensive course will provide 100 selected participants with professional training and direct engagement with industry experts.

According to the organisers, the programme will cover key areas including music production, songwriting, sound engineering, and music business, with a strong focus on practical skills and real-world industry exposure.

Applications for the programme opened on February 24, 2026, and will close on March 20, 2026. The application process is free, and selected participants will receive full funding to attend.

The initiative is designed to bridge gaps in access to quality music education and professional networks, particularly for underrepresented communities, while contributing to the continued growth and global competitiveness of the African music industry.
