Novak Djokovic battled into the last 16 of the Indian Wells Masters with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-
4 victory over Aleksandar Kovacevic.
The Serbian star, chasing a record sixth title in California, recovered after dropping
the second set to seal the win in just over two hours.
He will next face defending champion Jack Draper, who defeated Francisco
Cerundolo.
In other results, Cameron Norrie beat Alex de Minaur, while qualifier Rinky Hijikata
upset Alexander Bublik.
In the women’s draw, unseeded Katerina Siniakova ended the title defence of Mirra
Andreeva with a 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-3 comeback victory.
Elsewhere, Iga Swiatek defeated Maria Sakkari, and Jessica Pegula fought back to
beat Jelena Ostapenko.
