Media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, has shared insights into how she manages her public image while keeping aspects of her personal life private.

Speaking at The Creative Blueprint, an event hosted by actress and producer Funke Akindele, KieKie explained that she has intentionally drawn a clear boundary between her real life and her brand.

According to her, the distinction between Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and KieKie is deliberate and essential to maintaining balance. “I’ve created a very thick line between what is personal to me and what is personal to my brand,” she said.

KieKie noted that her content revolves around her professional identity as a comedian, event host, actor, and content creator. She emphasized that she only shares content aligned with these brand elements.

Addressing questions about her family’s limited presence online, KieKie revealed that her husband is deliberately kept out of the spotlight. “They say, ‘Why is she hiding her husband?’ But he’s not even funny. So why should he be in my content?” she said humorously.

However, she occasionally features her daughter, Nola, whom she described as naturally inclined toward the camera. Despite this, she maintains strict boundaries, allowing her daughter to participate in content creation only during school holidays.

“She only makes content when she’s on break. If she’s not on holiday, she’s not making content,” KieKie explained, highlighting her commitment to balancing parenting with her career.

Beyond personal boundaries, KieKie also cautioned fellow creators against overexploiting viral moments. She warned that excessive repetition can lead to audience fatigue and diminish originality.

“Sometimes when we have viral moments, we overmilk it until it becomes annoying,” she said, urging creatives to focus on innovation instead of repetition.

Encouraging originality, she concluded that viral success should serve as motivation rather than a formula to be endlessly replicated. “When something goes viral, it’s a reminder to do more because where that came from, there’s more,” she added.
